A power plant with unique strengths The Audi Q7 V12 TDI

The tremendously powerful turbocharged twelve-cylinder diesel engine delivers 368 kW (500 bhp) and 1,000 Nm of torque over an engine speed range between 1,750 rpm and 3,000 rpm. This engine, equipped with two turbochargers, takes the Audi Q7 from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds.

More power output with lower fuel consumption - that also applies to the Audi Q7 V12 TDI. The 6-litre diesel engine uses particularly innovative injection technology. The two high-pressure pumps of the common-rail system generate considerably higher pressure than before - up to 2,000 bar. This extra pressure enables even more efficient combustion, and hence more power output along with simultaneously reduced fuel consumption.

The Audi Q7 V12 TDI already meets emission standard 5, which will probably come into force from mid-2010. Thanks to Bluetec technology, a new type of exhaust emission control, as well as controlled and cooled exhaust gas recirculation, the V12 TDI engine is both powerful and clean. At the heart of Bluetec technology there lies an SCR catalytic converter (Selective Catalytic Reduction).
