The special thing about the MMI: via this central element you can control not only the CD player, radio and DVD player. It is also the central control unit for various mobile media. You can connect your PDA with no problem at all, or USB storage media with your own data, which you can then read on the high-resolution colour display. If the Audi Bluetooth car phone or the mobile phone preparation (Bluetooth) have also been ordered, you can synchronise your electronic directory or the contents of your mobile phone. You can connect your iPod with the optional Audi music interface.

With the MMI navigation plus the required routes are displayed in 3D mode or shown as a digital map on the display, and can be moved with the joystick in the MMI terminal.

In the case of the MMI navigation plus system, the maps are stored on a hard drive. The maps are shown in 3D on the high-resolution 7-inch colour display, including topography coloration, points of interest and town models. The hard drive also has room for your music data. MMI navigation plus is supplemented by two SD card readers, an MP3-, WMA- and AAC-capable DVD drive and a radio with a double tuner.

The system is easy to operate by voice command – irrespective of the speaker and without any prior training. Thanks to whole-word input (if available), it is not necessary to spell out words. The system automatically creates a voice entry for every entry in the directory.

In conjunction with the optional Audi Bluetooth car phone or the optional mobile phone preparation, you can make calls very easily in the case of special destinations such as restaurants, directly from the navigation application. All entries from the directory, which holds up to 5,000 addresses, can be used as navigation destinations.
