Restraint systems have the job of reducing or entirely eliminating the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. A restraint system for a frontal impact, for example, consists of the driver’s and front passenger’s airbags, properly worn safety belts at all seats and where applicable belt force limiters or pyrotechnic safety belt pretensioners and correctly positioned head restraints.
