Audi Sport quattro concept

The design of the show car, exhibited at Frankfurt's IAA, has hauled the quattro tradition into the here and now while also providing more than a hint of how sports cars of this kind are likely to look in the future. Clearly identifiable – for example, by the “blisters” above the fenders – is the DNA of the legendary Audi Sport quattro that made its debut at the IAA 30 years ago.

Not only in design but also in terms of technology applied, the company has wound round the wheel of time with the Audi Sport quattro concept. Hence, this show car is equipped with a high-performance plug-in hybrid drive combining a 110 kW electric motor with a four-liter V8 gasoline-powered engine delivering 412 kW with direct injection and biturbo charging efficiency. That gives a system output rating of 515 kW. Yet consumption is a mean 2.5 liters of fuel (combined) per 100 kilometers, giving a CO2 equivalent of 59 grams per kilometer.
