    1. Regular inspection and maintenance at Audi Service

Getting a regular Audi Service ensures that your car is in good condition. Proper periodic inspection and maintenance of the engine, transmission and steering system requires special care. Based on Hong Kong driving conditions and AUDI AG’s recommendation, a regular check-up and maintenance should be preformed every 12 months or 15,000 kilometer.

    2. Regular inspection and replacement of engine oil (5W-40)

The engine oil lubricates, protects and clean your vehicle’s engine. It also prevents corrosion, improves sealing and cools the engine by carrying heat away from moving parts. AUDI AG recommends 5W-40 viscosity rating engine oil should be used in Hong Kong.

    3. Importance of your Audi service booklet

Always come to service with your Audi service booklet. The service booklet will be stamped and signed by the authorized Audi service advisors to help record and update all correlation data, which facilitate the maintenance service arrangement in the future.

From November 2012 onwards, the conventional service schedule booklet is being replaced by the Digital Service Schedule. For the life of the car (even if the vehicle changes ownership), all service records and maintenance work will be saved chronologically in AUDI AG‘s centralised workshop system.

    4. Use the correct grade if petrol and diesel oil

Most today’s vehicles are equipped with environmental protection engines for optimal efficiency and to reduce emissions to conform with strict emission standard in different countries. Only unleaded 98 (RON) or above petrol, and Euro 5 standard diesel oil are currently approved and available in Hong Kong.

    5. Tyre maintenance and tyre wear

Correct inflation pressures and sensible driving habits would help to prolong the life of your vehicle. Owners should check the tyre pressures at least twice a month. Inspect the tyres for irregular wear from time to time.

  • 1536x864-brake-disc-maintenance.jpg
    6. Brake disc maintenance

Water and moisture can easily build up within the brakes after you wash your car, and in turn it can lead to rusting. Rust in brake disc will damage the disc and pad and may reduce braking power. Never direct pressured water hose to the brake disc or pad.

    7. Wiper blades maintenance

Make sure you always use suitable car care products, which are specifically designed for washing vehicles, or just clean water. Wiper blades should be handled with care; never flap the wiper arms in order to avoid damage on the windshield.

    8. Roadster maintenance

In certain weather conditions, such as in persistent heavy rain and thunderstorm, a roadster parked under a dripping balcony or on uneven surface may cause the seals to flex. Gaps between the windows and top may cause slight leakage. Always park your car indoors during rainy days or bad weather.

  • 1536x864-condensation-inside-headlights.jpg
    9. Condensation inside headlights

When the headlight is turned off, temperature differences between the interior and exterior of the headlight causes condensation to appear inside the unit. Under normal conditions, we recommend owners to operate their headlights for a brief period of time to allow the moisture to evaporate.

    10. Washing your vehicle and regular care

Owners should use only dedicated washing fluids which are formulated for car exteriors along with a soft sponge. Use clean water to rinse away any dirt and dust particles before applying the washing fluids to prevent these particles from scratching the paint.
